Position Description:

This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, as part of a highly successful and growing business. This position will be responsible for various aspects of proposal development, supporting a wide range of efforts throughout the full lifecycle of bids. This position will support clients as needed, including both on-site and off-site work. Some travel may be required.


Candidate must have demonstrated capability in proposal development. Candidate must be comfortable working with proposal teams—including client personnel, other consultants, and teammates—to efficiently and effectively create winning proposals. Candidate must also be a quick learner who is adept at following directions, as required to ensure client satisfaction.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand solicitations, FAR clauses, or other applicable regulations

  • Create proposal storyboards, annotated outlines, response templates, cross-reference matrices, and other such response documents

  • Develop proposal schedules and milestones

  • Define roles and responsibilities of the proposal team

  • Coordinate dates, times, locations, and attendees for meetings, as needed

  • Help develop meeting agendas and presentations

  • Collect and submit any requests for clarification (Q&A)

  • Create, send, receive, and consolidate data calls

  • Hold regular proposal status meetings, and report any concerns with personnel or progress

  • Monitor for Amendments, Q&A, or other updates to solicitations and determine their impact on the proposal

  • Participate in proposal strategy sessions, win theme development, technical solution working groups, color reviews and debriefs, etc.

  • Provide page allocations, win themes, and other response guidance to writers

  • Write proposal content and/or perform copy editing, as needed

  • Perform document formatting and/or desktop publishing, as needed

  • Facilitate the development and revision of all proposal graphics

  • Validate that proposal submissions are complete and compliant with the RFP instructions

  • Oversee proposal production and submission


Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in English, Marketing/Communications, and/or Business

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in proposal development

  • Proficient in technical writing, editing, formatting, and proposal layout

  • Expert level skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of the FAR and the Federal contracting industry

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

  • Highly organized with great attention to detail

  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills to meet strict deadlines

  • Proven leadership skills


Optional Qualifications:

  • APMP and/or Shipley certification

  • PMP, ITIL, or other such professional certifications

  • Secret Clearance or higher

  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Privia, FBO, GovWin IQ, and other such proposal tools

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contractual documents

  • Understanding of proposal pricing strategies and cost components

  • Experience with graphics development tools, such as the Adobe Creative Suite
